How to use it
Step by step
- Sift 1 to 2 tsp of matcha into the bowl
- Add 60 ml of water at 70 °C
- Whisk in a W motion 20 to 30 seconds with the chasen
- Drink straight from the bowl, while the foam holds

Frequently asked questions
Is matcha included ?
The accessories-only kit doesn’t include matcha. An option lets you add 25 g of Ceremonial No.2 to start brewing on day one.
How to maintain the chasen ?
Rinse with warm water after each use, no soap. Place it back on its stand to keep its shape. It lasts 6 to 12 months depending on use.
Is the bowl dishwasher-safe ?
Hand wash recommended to preserve the double wall and the longevity of the glass.
