Frequently asked questions

Is matcha really good for the skin?

Yes. Matcha is one of the most concentrated sources of EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), a powerful antioxidant that helps protect skin cells from free radicals, reduce inflammation and support a brighter complexion. Consumed regularly, it contributes to slowing the visible signs of skin aging.

Why use Barista No.1 rather than Ceremonial for this recipe?

Barista No.1 is formulated to hold up against milks and spices. Its bold flavor isn't lost in the coconut milk or the turmeric, unlike ceremonial matcha whose delicate profile would risk being masked by the other ingredients.

Won't the turmeric color the drink too much?

A pinch is enough, and the green of the matcha dominates the final color. You'll get a beautiful golden-green latte that's very photogenic, without the turmeric taking over visually or in flavor.

Can you drink this recipe every day?

Yes, that's actually ideal. The benefits of matcha and turmeric on the skin build up over time with regular consumption. One cup in the morning on an empty stomach or after breakfast is perfect.

Can the coconut milk be replaced?

Yes. Oat milk works very well and adds a natural sweetness. Avoid almond milk, whose acidity can affect the color and taste. For an even richer version, use full-fat canned coconut milk diluted half-and-half with hot water.

Does raw honey really benefit the skin?

Raw honey contains enzymes, antioxidants and natural antibacterial properties. Consumed regularly, it helps calm inflammation, which can support reactive or acne-prone skin. Be careful not to add it to a liquid that's too hot, to preserve its properties.
